The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, Scotland’s national conservatoire, is the only institution in the world offering a BA (Honours) in Scottish Music. It also offers graded exams and unmarked performance assessments in traditional Scottish music that anyone can participate in, from school-age pupils to adult learners. The RSAMD currently offers exams and assessments in fiddle, accordion and Scottish harp. Sessions take place in Glasgow in spring and autumn, but schools can request special visits by an examiner at any time. Syllabuses, repertoires and entry guidelines can be viewed on their website: http://gradedexams.rsamd.ac.uk.
The Practical and Aural Musicianship, Quick Study, Fiddle, Accordion and Harp repertoire can now be downloaded from this site. Sound files to help you choose your repertoire are included until live recordings are made.
The Harp, Fiddle and Accordion printed music book collections Grades 1-5 are now available - purchase them from us at http://www.scotlandsmusic.com/graded-exams.html.
